A Summit and Awards Experience
The Teachers Spotlight Awards & Summit combines two major components: a professional summit for educators and an awards programme recognising teachers and other contributors to education.
The summit is designed to provide an opportunity for teachers and school leaders to engage with issues affecting teaching and learning, professional development and the changing demands of education.
The awards component will provide a platform for educators whose work has contributed to their classrooms, schools and communities to receive recognition.
The event is being convened by education consultant and teacher educator Dr. Grace Phillips-Ayonuwe, Founder and Director of GeePhill Education.
Why “Teachers of Tomorrow”?
The theme for this year's event comes at a period of significant change across the education sector.
Technology is changing how teachers prepare lessons and how students access information. Artificial intelligence is creating new possibilities and questions for schools, while curriculum reforms are placing greater emphasis on competencies and the practical application of knowledge.
These developments are changing the expectations placed on educators.
The TSA 2026 theme, “Teachers of Tomorrow,” centres the conversation on how educators can continue to develop professionally and respond to the changing needs of learners.
Who Is the Event For?
The summit is expected to attract:
- Teachers
- School owners & proprietors
- School leaders & administrators
- Education consultants
- Education professionals
- Education businesses
- Other stakeholders interested in teaching and learning
Teachers remain at the centre of the event, with the organisers also creating opportunities for schools and organisations to participate through partnerships and other forms of support.
More Than an Awards Ceremony
While recognition is a major part of TSA, the event is structured to go beyond presenting awards.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage with other educators, learn from education professionals and participate in conversations around the future of teaching and learning.
For school leaders, the event also provides an opportunity to connect with other education stakeholders and explore ideas around school development and teacher capacity.
The organisers are expected to announce further details about the programme, speakers and award categories as preparations continue.
